My mom sat down in the grass and she took of her beautiful expensive coat. She saw one of her friends and went to say hi. When she came back her coat was gone and she was crying.
My mom was searching for her coat, while it was raining.
My dad (who had a huge crush on her) saw her and ran up to the closest shop and bought her this jacket, he said to her: ” I know this isn’t your beautiful coat, but I couldn’t afford any other and I don’t want you to get cold “.
My mom kissed him, in the rain and that same year they married on New Year’s Eve.
And now, 35 years later my mom gave the jacket to me and said: ” losing something good can only give you something better instead and baby, losing that damn coat was the best thing that ever happened to me ”

I was rewatching this movie the other day and got up to the point where she and Miss Honey meet for the first time in the classroom, and she mentions that her favorite author is Charles Dickens.
And, like, I always thought they namedropped him in order to make her sound intellectual, but it occurred to me really suddenly and violently that the reason she loves Dickens is because he writes about children who live in abusive systems and who’ve been orphaned or abandoned and she finds comfort and solidarity in it. Miss Honey’s reacts the way she does because Dickens is special to her, likely for the same exact reason. WOW DUH.

I get really annoyed with people who are like “well she could have asked ron first instead of screaming at him to not use her as a last resort.”
well… no. She was asked by krum right away. She wanted to go with him. She wasn’t going alone and moaning that Ron hadn’t asked her. Her objection was to being treated like she should have been available to him, and being treated like she was lying about having a date. And who the fuck wouldn’t be offended by somebody thinking that they’re so undesirable that they made up a date?
